Kate Barry - Photography
I have a passion for taking landscape photographs, exploring the way the changing light & different weather conditions transform the connection between sky and land, creating a range of tone, shape, and atmosphere.
I am a member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers and I belong to a co-operative of artists at The Gallery at the Guild in Chipping Campden and have been a member since 2005 where I show and sell my work.
Whilst travelling through Namibia in 2018 I became very interested in wildlife photography, making good use of my 100mm - 600mm lens that I purchased specifically for the trip. Since returning home it's been quite an interesting challenge to photograph Britain's natural wildlife.
During lockdown in 2021, I experimented with still life photography and enjoyed the challenge of combining natural light with artificial light in doors to make a range of images that explore a new way of presenting everyday objects.
It is a joy to express my creativity through photography, but it means I am constantly on the lookout for sunrises, sunsets, and late evening light so consequently I am never settled until I can get out with my camera.
